Dr. Brandon Friedman graduated from the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry in 2010. He trained at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, FL, Vandenberg Air Force Base 30th Medical Group, and Portland VA Medical Center. He has volunteered on optometry missions to Mexico and the Dominican Republic. Dr. Friedman is certified to treat glaucoma and other eye conditions and serves as a Trustee for the California Optometric Association. He is committed to providing excellent care by connecting with patients and staying current with the latest technology.

Dr. Faith Enfield graduated from UC Berkeley School of Optometry in 2010. Her training was conducted at VA hospitals in Tacoma, Portland, and Sacramento. She completed a residency at the Sierra Nevada VA Medical Center and is certified with Advanced Competence in Medical Optometry. Dr. Enfield is certified to treat primary open angle glaucoma and prescribe ocular medications for many other eye conditions. She also trained in pediatrics at Children's Eye Institute and enjoys seeing patients of all ages. Dr. Enfield learned Spanish while studying abroad in Salinas, Ecuador. She has led volunteer optometry service missions in Thailand and Ecuador. In private practice, she appreciates the opportunity to spend time with her patients to optimize their vision and ocular health as their primary eye care provider.

Dr. Huang graduated from the University of California, Riverside, in 1999 and completed his optometric training from the Southern California College of Optometry in 2004. Dr. Huang is certified for treatment of ocular disease. He has interned at Bethesda Naval Hospital in Washington D.C. and Southern Nevada Veteran's Administration, Las Vegas.

Dr. Huang is a current member of the American Optometric Association and the Inland Empire Optometric Society. Dr. Huang is fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) and capable of conducting an exam in Spanish. Dr. Huang is committed to providing the patient with the most concise and comprehensive vision evaluation.

Dr. Stacy Hu received her undergraduate degree from UCLA and her dual doctor of optometry and master's in science in vision science from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. After graduating from optometry school, she completed a primary care optometry residency at Group Health Cooperative (now Kaiser Permanente) in Tacoma, Washington. Dr. Hu has worked in multiple different settings in optometry, including a college of optometry, an academic eye care center, LASIK/refractive surgery clinic, private practice, and in clinical research. Dr. Hu is a fellow in the American Academy of Optometry, and is on the board of the Inland Empire Optometry Society. She is also a member of the American Optometric Association, and serves as a mentor to UCLA students interested in optometry.

She has also presented continuing education lectures to local optometry societies and at the American Optometric Association. Dr. Hu is certified to treat glaucoma, and enjoys managing patients who have chronic eye diseases such as diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Hu also manages patients who need specialty contact lenses (RGP and scleral contact lenses) for keratoconus, and evaluates and treats patients with urgent eye care needs such as pink eyes and foreign bodies. Dr. Hu is conversational but not fluent in Spanish and Mandarin Chinese. In her free time, Dr. Hu enjoys hiking and exploring national parks with her husband and her dog.

Dr. Sara Drake graduated from the University of California, Riverside with a degree in Biology in 2017. She then completed a research fellowship in vision science at the University of Rochester, Center for Visual Sciences. Dr. Drake earned her doctorate from Western University of Health Sciences, College of Optometry in 2022. She completed her training from W.J.B Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia South Carolina, Neuro Vision Associates of North Texas in Plano Texas, LoBue Laser and Eye Medical Centers in Temecula California, as well as Edmonds Eye Associates at the Will's Eye Hospital in Philidelphia Pennsylvania.

Dr. Drake is proficient, but not fluent, in Spanish. In her free time, she enjoys drawing, running, and spending time with her dog.

"My grandparents immigrated to Southern California from Mexico in 1951. I am grateful for the roots they planted that laid strong my foundation. I hope to be able to give back by providing comprehensive and compassionate care to my community."

As a young student in 1975, I had been thinking about a career. I knew several other people who either were in optometry school or were planning to go to Optometry school. I had grown increasingly envious of them. Finally, it dawned on me “Duh! Why don’t I go to optometry school?” I thought about this for quite a while before I summoned up the courage to ask my (future) wife, Sharon, “Do you think that I should go to optometry school?” She endorsed the idea without hesitation and has supported me in my career ever since, and so I was launched into the greatest adventure of my life.

I have striven, since the day that I graduated in 1980, to be the very best optometrist that I could be. This was a challenge. My profession was growing and developing rapidly, and I needed to keep pace. We often think of optometrists as the “people who prescribe glasses and contact lenses”. While glasses and contact lenses continued to be important to optometry, I found myself spending increasing amounts of my time evaluating and managing my patient’s health. I have always checked my patients for glaucoma but more recently I have also been treating that condition when necessary. Whether it is glaucoma, diabetic eyecare, dry eye, cataracts, neurological disorders and so much more, I have always felt that it was a priority to ensure that “nothing gets past me”.

It has been my pleasure, during my career, to work with 100’s of doctors, staff personnel and to collaborate with colleagues, primary care doctors and ophthalmologists. Dr. Michael Huang has brought great dignity to the practice and has always shared my vision of quality care. There are many others, too numerous for me to name, but for those who are still with us, please know that you are not forgotten. I fondly remember those who have passed on including Tala, Bay, Jo and my first partner, Dr. Rosenberg.

The greatest adventure of my career began during 2010 when my son Dr. Brandon joined the practice. My daughter-in-law Dr. Faith Enfield later joined us. These are 2 brilliant doctors. I have learned much from them. Finally, my bio would not be complete without acknowledging the most important person of all, you, my patients. I have always believed that Friedman Optometry was a family operation. Not only are my son and daughter-in-law part of this family but so are Dr. Huang, the entire staff and you are too. I approached each patient encounter like it was an opportunity to spend a little time with a cherished family member. I tried to get to know you. I rationalized that by knowing you I could better serve you. It was a particular delight, as I aged, to see some of the children who were my patients returning with their children. Your loyalty has been tremendously gratifying.

I am genuinely enjoying retirement. I spend time at the beach and the mountains with Sharon. I ride bicycle, snow ski and kayak. I have recently joined the pickleball craze. I rest easy knowing that I leave you all in the hands of doctors who, like me, strive to be the very best.
